Trivia

  • This marks the first episode of the series to be released in close to nine years, after multiple failed plans to revive the series.
  • The YouTube version of the episode features two exclusive bits.
    • An opening bit regarding YouTube's controversial "made for kids" policy, which has been affecting many animators and content creators on the streaming platform.
    • And a closing bit unveiling MollyKetty's second line art commission from Jennifer Hernandez, featuring Ginny the Fox and Relinda the Rabbit (whom is currently the second newest character in the Molly Ketty and Friends universe).
  • The episode brings back a few characters that were immaturely removed from the series due to MollyKetty's misunderstanding incident with James Smith back in the middle of 2016, such as the Chameleon from T.U.F.F. Puppy (who is revealed to be the Felix the Cat shadow look-a-like whom has kidnapped Ortensia) and the Battletoads.
  • In "Chapter 15-B: Duckburg Attack", Winx Club characters Bloom and Stella were going to fight Maleficent from Disney's Sleeping Beauty in her dragon form.
    • Maleficent was also going to negatively complement on Bloom and Stella's "disgusting and revealing" Winx outfits.
  • In June 2018, MollyKetty received permission from Jennifer Hernandez on DeviantArt to include her Sonic OCs, Jade and Crystal the Cat, into the series. They would have been main characters, despite not officially being Sonic characters only making cameo appearances in the comics, most notably issue three of the IDW series.
  • In "Chapter 15-D: Hot Dog Hills Attack":
    • Johnny Bravo was going to flirt at Lum Invader, and would ultimately get mad and electrocute him in a humorous scene.
    • Molly Ketty was going to fight Jade without using Aura Diamond magic and was even going to kiss her at the end of the fight.
  • The scenes where Molly Ketty and Valery are dodging Jade and Wreck-It Ralph's punches are references to Toonsite's Sonic Couples Dodging video. Though the latter scene is Dance Dance Revolution-styled.
  • In "Chapter 19: The Amazonian Distress Call", Superman and Sonic were originally going to assist Wonder Woman in saving Themyscira from Marvel's Red Skull and the T-800s, but both ultimately got replaced by Pikachu.
  • In "Chapter 23: Mega Rumble in Mega City", Felix the Cat was going to mistake Dr. Wily for the Professor, whom is always after his Magic Bag of Tricks.
  • In "Chapter 27: The Hulk's Vengeance", the Hulk was going to fight the Avengers, as revenge for sending him into space.
  • Taco Bell Kids Meal mascots Nacho and Dog are seen eating tacos from Taco Depot, referencing their love for the Mexican food.
  • In "Chapter 30: A Little CatDog in Townsville", Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi character Ami Onuki was going to make a cameo appearance on a billboard as a swimsuit pin-up girl, particularly stylized by the artwork Jennifer Hernandez did for a summer contest entry on DeviantArt back in July 2005.
  • In "Chapter 31: The Shadowy Ambush on Eternia", Shadow the Hedgehog was going to fight:
    • He-Man, believing him to be a new minion of Skeletor trying to infiltrate Castle Grayskull.
    • Then Fred Flintstone, who believes he kidnapped Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm.
    • And lastly Molly Ketty, in an attempt to take her Aura Diamond mistaking it for the purple Chaos Emerald.
  • In "Chapter 32: Super Mario Lost World", Mario was going to fight both Zazz and Zomom of the Deadly Six, saving M&M's spokescandies Red and Yellow from eating them.
  • "Chapter 33: Chaos on Shadow Moses Island", Kitty Katswell was originally going to be torn into her bra and panties during her and Dudley Puppy's battle with Solid Snake. But was cut from the slideshow in this episode in order to tone down on the sexual themes of the series, and to maintain the family-friendly nature of the character from the show despite wearing some two-piece swimsuits in select episodes.
  • In "Chapter 34: Valery and Kerstin's Ketty Quest":
    • Aside from Babs and Buster Bunny (no relation), and Sanjay and Craig, many more newly added secondary and minor characters were going to appear.
    • There was even going to be a scene where Sylvester from Looney Tunes would flirt at Kerstin, but would ultimately reject him due to her crush on Prince Brandon the Cat.
  • In both Chapter 35 and 36, there was going to be some humorous dialog where Ralph and Vanellope think Valery and Kerstin are from Sonic's universe.
  • In "Chapter 35: Sugar Rush Mayhem":
    • There was going to be an opening scene where Flapjack and Captain K'nuckles from The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack think they're on Candied Island and celebrate.
    • Valery the Cat was going to strip naked and go for a swim in a body of chocolate.
    • Valery was going to have a verbal fight scene with both Angelica from Rugrats and Vanellope, which the latter would have resulted in Ralph's game-jumping chase for the light violet kitty.
  • In "Chapter 36: Wreck-It Cat Chase", during Ralph's game-jumping chase for Valery and Kerstin, the chapter was going to stick with video game universes that actually appeared in the Wreck-It Ralph films series, such as Altered Beast, Frogger and Dance Dance Revolution.
  • In "Chapter 38: Crisis in Crisis City", Mega Man was going to hunt Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, believing them to cause of the devastation of Silver's future homeworld.
  • The episode unveils Sonicia the Hedgehog as a spawn of Aku, collecting the green Chaos Emerald.
  • The episode is dedicated to the memory of MollyKetty and family's long-time real world pet cat, Beyoncé, who died more than a year after the episode's completion.
    • The video footage, recorded by MollyKetty's anonymous brother using his old IOS phone, was recorded several months prior to her death.
  • The Jurassic Park Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Angry Video Game Nerd (both voiced by James Smith) appear in the closing Molly Ketty Productions logo, featuring dubbed footage taken from both the closing logo of "Chapter 16: The Lost Illusion: Jurassic Park" and the Angry Video Game Nerd web series itself.
    • This variant was created almost a decade prior to the episode's completion, with the only edit from MollyKetty being the addition of the 2025 closing copyright info.

Production notes and errors

  • The opening animation scene with the Justice League and Sonic fighting Dr. Eggman's Badniks, and later meeting and fighting the doctor himself, was originally creating for the unfinished episode, "Chapter 18: Trouble in Gotham City, Part 2". But was repurposed for this episode.
    • In this particular scene, the Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo! appears as a background object, Daffy Duck makes a cameo appearance on a poster, and the Mortal Kombat series dragon logo can be seen carved on a building.
    • It also includes a few references to the Sonic series itself, such as Sonic losing some rings when getting hit by a Slicer, and even shouting his catchphrase, "Way past cool!", from the short-lived Sonic the Hedgehog animated series from DiC.
  • Elmer Fudd, Secret Squirrel, Morocco Mole and Darkwing Duck among other newly included characters were added to the episode late in development, due to some extra scenes made for the slideshow.
  • The smaller animation scenes in the episode were originally made for the cancelled Return of the Illusion trailer, but were all repurposed for this episode.
  • A few sprites used in the episode, such as some fire sprites and a Mickey Mouse sprite from World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, were miscredited in the end credits.
  • Ultra-Shounen-Kai-Z's drawing sheet for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was originally going to be used for his fight scene with Guts Man, but was ultimately replaced by the sprites created by CrowSar, who also created the Felix the Cat sprites used in this episode.
  • DeviantArt user KDgamer015, creator of the Rocky sprite used in this episode, was almost accidently miscredited in the end credits.
  • In the battle scene with the Illusion Mistress by CatDog's destroyed house in Nearburg, Spawn's sprite was edited to resemble the darkness from the HBO animated series.
  • The scene with Freedom Planet protagonists (Lilac, Carol and Milla) fighting enemies from different worlds was originally planned for the untitled The Simpsons-themed chapter, but was repurposed for this episode due to the latter two characters being accidently credited in the copyrights ahead of their reveals.
  • MollyKetty's old MS Paint drawing of Q*Bert from June 2012 is used in the slideshow.
  • Some old screenshots used in the slideshow, most particularly the ones with Sonic planned for "Chapter 39: Sonic's Dimensional Chase", feature newly added cameo characters, such K.O. from OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes, several characters from the Marvel universe, and Odie from Garfield.
